How do we get started?
Welcome to Hang Around Hound! The first step is to set up a profile for you and your pup!
What is a Meet and Greet?
Meet and Greets are an opportunity for us to get together and see if we are a good fit for each other. We welcome you and your dog into our facility to take a look around and after chat about your dogs specific needs and behaviors. Then we will introduce a few of our tester dogs to your dog. We are primarily looking for aggression towards us or our dogs
What are the requirements for my dog?
Do I need an appointment?
Sometimes. Initial Meet and Greets require an appointment. After a dog has been cleared we will accept Walk-Ins during most of the year. We do however prefer clients to request appointments as often as possible. For extremely busy times it is best to get a Daycare and Boarding appointment in advance. These time would include Summer in general Spring Break and Mid-November through to Mid-January. Please note Holidays such as Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years fill up extremely quickly. It is advised to request a stay during these holidays at least a month in advance.
I have not received a confirmation for my service request. Can my dog still come to day care?
Yes. All service requests are recived through e-mail. We check our email as often as possible but on occasion a service request may go unanswered for a few hours while our attention is on the dogs. We are, in most cases, able to accept dogs in short notice even if a service request has not been accepted. Holidays are a rare exception to this rule. When in doubt please feel free to call/text us to confirm your service appointment.
How can I pay my invoice?
Invoices are sent via e-mail after services are complete. They can be paid with a Credit Card through the Pay Portal, Venmo, PayPal, or via check.
My dog has separation anxiety, Can they still come for Daycare or Boarding?
Yes! Hang Around Hound is staffed 24/7 and dogs that have separation anxiety may sleep with the owner in their apartment above the daycare. There may be some circumstances in which separation anxiety is focused on the parents specifically in which case the dog may be uncomfortable in a daycare setting. We will notify the owner if this is the case and direct the owner to training options.
Do you offer walks?
No. All services are with-in the daycare setting.
